迷你我”工作坊是一系列帶領小朋友探尋內在自我的課程
“Mini Me” is a series of empowerment courses that commands an introspection of knowing oneself first, and thus, how to interact with others. Through innovative, creative forms and guidance of Big Friends children will learn valuable tools to tap their “inner child” and express themselves.
We started off with having kids at MuHsiang Children’s Home and Big Friends ask each other several questions. From these inspiration everyone started to map out their masks based on their interests. The importance of the lesson was not only self discovery and getting to know each other, but understanding that we should not be so quick to judge each other based on appearances.
For lunch we had a very exciting and delicious plant-based meal from Mianto, their signature Spaghetti Napolitana pasta topped with fresh vegetables. Two amazing vegan cakes were also generously provided as dessert, their best selling cranberry lychee and mouthwatering chocolate. As the food was gobbled up, there were repeated questions of asking if I was sure the items were vegan and did not contain any meat or animal by-products – unbelievable due to the hearty pasta sauce and the appearance and taste of the cakes.
Given that it was also our Big Friend James Teng birthday in the few days after this workshop, we topped one of the cakes with a lit candle and sang him a birthday song.
After lunch we finished the final touches on each of the masks and had everyone present their alter-egos, along with capturing this on video.
