帶著滿滿的禮物，我們懷著喜悅的心情，受臺灣葡萄園關懷協會的邀請前往台東，並與協會的孩子們相見。

抵達時正好是上課時間，我們一邊忙著卸下歲末的聖誕佳欣禮物與純素薑餅工作坊材料，一邊還得小心躲避孩子們好奇又敏銳的目光，既緊張又充滿期待。
桌面上鋪滿薑餅人的製作材料，孩子們的每一雙小手都忙著構思與嘗試，將腦中天馬行空的想像一點一滴實現。對他們而言，這不只是一場甜點製作活動，更像是一個可以自由表達自我的小舞台。我們從最基礎的步驟開始，孩子們兩人一組閱讀食譜，協助計算 1/2 茶匙與湯匙的份量，學習如何做出薑餅麵團。從秤麵粉開始，大家小心翼翼地將材料倒入容器中，專注盯著刻度變化，深怕一不小心就多了或少了。有人負責扶著量杯，有人提醒夥伴慢慢來，彼此自然形成分工。
過程中，溝通變得格外重要。孩子們會幫忙讀取電子秤的數字，確保份量精準無誤；若是不小心多了或少了，大家就得在教室兩端來回「接力」修正，讓整個教室充滿笑聲與活力。在反覆的嘗試與調整中，他們學會傾聽、等待與合作，也逐漸理解「一起完成」比「快點完成」更重要。
到了裝飾環節，有的孩子仔細排列糖霜位置；有的則大膽嘗試，把喜歡的元素全都放上去。每一份作品都不盡相同，正如孩子們各自獨特的個性與想法。完成後，他們迫不及待地捧起作品，興奮地向夥伴與老師展示，眼神裡滿是驕傲的神情。雖然其中一批薑餅不小心烤焦了，但孩子們依然笑著面對，臉上帶著滿滿成就感，這些小小的插曲反而讓回憶更加深刻。
分享的時刻總是短暫的，許多孩子在展示後便忍不住咬下自己親手完成的薑餅人，糖霜沾滿嘴角，笑容依舊燦爛。完成薑餅人餅乾的成就感與品嚐的幸福交織在一起，成為最純粹的快樂。謝謝大家讓這些珍貴時刻得以發生；透過這樣的陪伴與互動，嚮光悄悄走進孩子們的日常，在甜甜的滋味中，留下第一次相遇的美好記憶，也讓每一次相聚都成為一起成長、一起學習的機會。
With gifts in tow, How joyous it was to make this journey to Taitung with the invite of the 臺灣葡萄園關懷協會Taiwan Vineyard Arts Association and meet their children! Arriving during their class hours and having to unload not only their year end Santa JiaXin gifts but our vegan gingerbread workshop proved to be a challenge as we were trying to hide from the watchful and curious gaze of the students.
With our first time meeting the children, we started with a simple and delicious workshop that nurtures patience and teamwork. Splitting into groups of two the children read off the recipes and helped calculate 1/2 teaspoons and tablespoons to make the perfect gingerbread dough. Each child getting a chance to pour in the ingredients and communication was essential as the other children would help read the scale to make sure it was exact. Going over or under the exact amount? Kids would have to leap frog from one end of the classroom to the next! being able to work together and communicate with each other, as well as patiently waiting for their turn, made for magical gingerbread cookies topped by vibrant icing.
There was a slight hiccup with one batch burning but the children took everything in stride with smiles and a proud look on their face. Thank you for making these moments possible; each and every turn is a chance to spend together to grow and learn together!
