[活動報告]:2024/06/17（南港）非洲面具工作坊

2024南港樂齡藝術與創意培力計畫完成第六場活動啦！此計畫旨在激發樂齡的創造力，利用藝術作為療癒工具和溝通媒介，預計將樂齡的作品展示於南港據點，讓他們與這個生活空間建立更緊密的情感聯繫。

今天向光與南港樂齡介紹非洲，並一起製作非洲面具，為下週非洲鼓工作坊埋下伏筆。

「大家知道非洲有哪些動物嗎？」

「那非洲跟台灣或其他國家都有的動物是什麼呢？」，

我們喜歡在課堂之初藉由問答，激發大家思考，也能幫助記憶及學習。認識非洲文化後，便開始製作擁有獨特儀式文化的非洲面具。

首先，大朋友與樂齡一起黏貼紙版、認識面具五官，再將廢紙撕成手掌大小，均勻抹上白膠水後黏貼於紙板，透過雙手按壓、服貼，使面具五官更為柔和，這一個步驟較費工，樂齡安靜且專注的投入其中，像在為面具敷面膜，為稍後的「化妝打扮」做事前保養呢！

等面具稍微晾乾後，再為面具刷上一層深色「粉底」，接著以褐色取代非洲面具中的金色塗抹於額頭與鼻子，代表著財富與陽光，以及象徵生命的紅色、有著和平含義的藍色等等，透過顏色層層堆疊及其含義讓樂齡了解非洲藝術文化。

最後，我們請樂齡以海綿塊為面具「打亮」與點綴時，樂齡嚷嚷著：「我不會啦！做不好，這個交給你們畫！」在大朋友的引導下，使樂齡迅速上手，至活動尾聲還有樂齡意猶未盡的想在面具上多添幾筆呢！

嚮光陪伴著樂齡一步一步，像在為自己妝扮似的，完成美麗的面具。樂齡學到了不同的繪畫技巧與非洲文化，下週非洲鼓課程又會蹦出什麼樣的火花呢？

Yet another unique class – one that we squeezed in before our upcoming African drumming class with 江鳥（Fablan Samory Toure) as we felt having African masks would be a beautiful backdrop for the music class. It would also give us a chance to learn more about African culture and drumming (our time is quite limited each session).

We had our older friends help us with placing the eyes and nose on the upcycled cardboard faces, at the same time they would be able to point out and see clearly what parts of the faces they had to put a “facial sheet mask on” and then continue to put on “foundation” and “contour” make up for the masks.

Step by step and laughter by laughter, our older friends and us worked hard to put together a few incredible masks. We all looked adoringly at the colorful creations and got everyone amped up for the drumming session that would be coming up.

As usual, we had an idea that set in which had not been done before – thankfully we had Yiti work on designing a handicraft with upcycled materials as a prototype that we then turned into a workshop. We understood that we had to resolve issues with dexterity and breaking down a simply yet complex mask creation that could fit into the time slot and also within our older friends’ understanding.
